Description:
TIES was established in 1987. It was founded in
order to advance integrative teaching and
learning in workshops, seminars, and courses for
teachers/leaders in business and education.
TIES has conducted teacher formation courses in
Norway New Zealand, Canada and the USA. The
faculty has also provided consultation for
schools in North and South America, Europe, New
Zealand and Australia. TIES is a front-runner in
the field of distance learning, launching its
colloquium-based approach to graduate study in
1996.
The Institute:
Promotes democratic, experiential,
holistic and transformative learning processes
that are aligned with the work of Thomas Berry,
Brian Swimme and Maria Montessori.
Advocates for a secure and sustainable
world by emphasizing the individual's role in
transforming society.
Recognizes that diversity,
interdependence, ecological awareness and a
realization of the body-brain-spirit connection
are integral to Earth stewardship
Fosters the development of
compassionate and collaborative learning
communities.
