We have additional programs, workshops and events, for all ages, with the community and are located in beautiful Sussex County, NJ, 45 minutes from New York City. At The Emerson Lily Free School, children and adults come together as a cooperative community of learners. Students determine their individual curriculum. Students and staff have an equal part in the Consensus decision-making process and share in the responsibilities of the school. All decisions are made together at the school meeting. Conflict resolution is nurtured by coaching in empathetic communication, peer mediation and the support of the school meeting.
