North Star supports teens and their families to use homeschooling as a means to design and pursue their own learning and their own lives. North Star is a community center that offers classes, tutoring, socializing, and connections to the community for its members. North Star also provides ongoing counseling and consulting with its members to assess how the homeschooling approach is working for each teen and family. The majority of North Star families are coming from an unhappy schooling situation and are new to homeschooling; only a handful of members are lifelong homeschoolers. North Star maintains a commitment to work with all interested families regardless of their financial situations. North Star's mission is to make homeschooling a viable and inspiring option for any interested teen in the Pioneer Valley.
